Advanced Technology at Wright Perio & Implants

Millennium Periolase Mvp 7 Laser

Laser Technology for LANAP and LAPIP

Dr. Wright is a LANAP laser-certified clinician and uses the Millennium Periolase MVP 7 laser to treat periodontal disease around teeth (LANAP) and dental implants (LAPIP). The laser selectively removes bacteria and diseased tissue without removing the surrounding healthy tissue. It has the first-ever FDA clearance within the medical or dental field for TRUE REGENERATION. No Cut No Sew is the motto for LANAP/LAPIP since there is no cutting of tissue or sutures involved. Therefore, your recovery will be faster and have less discomfort with this minimally invasive procedure.

Carestream 8200 3d Cone Beam Scanner

Our state-of-the-art 3D Cone Beam CT (CBCT) scanner is the dental version of a computer tomography (CT) unit used by hospitals. It produces a series of computer images that are stitched together to produce a precise 3D image series around your head. Dr. Wright can rotate and magnify these 3D images of your teeth and jawbone to accurately diagnose and treat periodontal disease as well as virtually place dental implants.

Intraoral Camera

Our digital intraoral camera takes stunning clear high-resolution pictures of the inside of your mouth that are immediately viewable on our computer monitor. You and the doctor or hygienist can view them together to show you the condition of your teeth and gums in detail. Intraoral camera images will show things not visible on X-rays and give you additional information for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Implant-planning Software

After taking a 3D CBCT scan of your teeth and jaw, Dr. Wright uses the included implant planning software to precisely plan your implant placement. This also allows Dr. Wright to safely plan your implant away from important anatomical structures.

Surgical Guides

To ensure accurate placement of dental implants, the doctor uses a surgical guide as a template that fits over your teeth to indicate the exact location and angle where implants are to be placed. This most importantly ensures the procedure is safer with precision implant placement and also makes the procedure faster and more efficient.

Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique

Dr. Wright was personally trained by Dr. Chao and is a certified clinician to perform The Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique. It is a minimally invasive procedure for treating gum recession. The procedure is incision and suture-free. Healing and discomfort are minimal compared to traditional tissue grafting techniques.

Digital X-rays

Our digital X-ray sensors capture images with 80% less radiation than conventional X-ray films. They also produce highly detailed images that are available instantly on a computer monitor. We can zoom in on select parts of the images for closer inspection and can add filters to the digital images to more accurately diagnose the conditions of your teeth.

Surgical Magnification Eyeglasses

Dr. Wright and his hygienist use surgical magnification eyeglasses (known as surgical telescope loupes) for a detailed view of small areas while giving treatment. This allows precision surgical technique and safety when performing your treatment.

Piezoelectric Scaling Devices

We use Piezoelectric (Piezo) scalers to quickly and gently remove the biofilm, plaque, and calculus that has accumulated on your teeth and below your gum line. Piezos are state-of-the-art and superior to ultrasonic scalers (magnetostrictive) as they produce less root damage on your teeth. The vibrational strength can also be adjusted for patient comfort.

Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT)

We now offer state-of-the-art periodontal maintenance to remove biofilm (organized plaque and bacteria) with GBT. GBT using the EMS Air Flow® system is a new approach to oral health care. Air Flow® uses a fine spray of warmed water & Erythritol PLUS powder to gently deep clean the tooth surface above and below the gum line. GBT is vastly superior to conventional biofilm removal with hand or power instruments.

Itero Element 5d Digital Scanner

We offer digital impressions so no more goopy impression trays that are hard to fit in your mouth. Digital is accurate and is transmitted to the dental lab in minutes.

NXT X-Guide Navigation System

Our office has adopted another science based technology to provide safe and precision implant placement using the NXT X-Guide Navigation system. This allows real time visualization of the implant without use of surgical guides. Anatomic structures are avoided with incredible implant placement accuracy.
